Bit tricky this. Like 99.999% recurring of Uffculme's population I forgot that the last Tuesday in the month, give or take force majeure, is the Parish Council Meeting, and so was not at the May meeting.
However the agenda was kindly made available, most of which is familiar territory but.

Item 5. 'Review of the Representation on Council Committees and Local Organisations. No specific proposals to amend Committee Structures or Representatives to Local Organisations have been received but should any Councillor wish to move/transfer or resign, then please let the Clerk know in advance of the Meeting so that he may advise the Chairman and a replacement can be elected.'

Now what did all that mean? If only I'd been there I should know. Has someone not been doing his or her parochial duties? or is it just an advance warning to keep the troops in order?

Item 6. Now this could have something fairly new, although we have  had previous meeting about Affordable Housing in Uffculme. But Catherine Simmons the MDDC Rural Housing Development Officer has had the results of the Housing Needs survey and might have had something fresh and stimulating to report.

Item 9. Burial Board matters. Well I'm sure that the Burial Board does matter, but it surfaces like an old friend every month. Uffculme owns its own cemetery. We could give it into the care and control of MDDC but we rather like going alone in some ways, and we don't want any unnecessary interference in what little control the Parish Council has, do we?

Next month we go to Ashill. Ashill residents seem to like having this paternal annual visit. They can certainly turn out a much larger percentage that the larger village down the road. June 20, 7.30pm Ashill Village Hall.
