WELCOME TO THE 21ST CENTURY. February 10th 2004 and the Craddock exchange passed the trigger level of 400! High speed Internet access could be here soon. There will be a delay while BT validate the registrations, and assuming all goes well an RFS (Ready For Service) date will be announced. The nearby Greenham exchange has an activation date of 2nd July 2004, so it is unlikely to be that soon for Craddock. HISTORY At the beginning of last year there seemed little hope of Broadband for the Uffculme area before 2005. Campaigns started early last year: Broadband 4 Culm Valley; Mid Devon We Want Broadband; Craddock We Want Broadband; Uffculme We Want Broadband; all contributed to raising awareness, along with some local publicity in the Spotlight Parish Magazine, and Mid Devon Gazette. By the end of 2003, Liam Martin's publicity brought the level to 150 registrations, which then led to BT setting the trigger level of 400. Recently there has been a flurry of registrations, leading to the trigger level being met. Well done everyone. |
